We hope that you all had a wonderful, relaxing
and fun-filled summer! It is well deserved time off after all
the hard
work you do during the school year. Hopefully
you are re-charged and ready to go...we've missed you and look
forward
to a new start to our 2011-2012 Sunday School
Year!
After our parent-teacher meeting last Spring, we
made several exciting changes to the Sunday School program that
we
would like to share with you. First, we have
chosen a new curriculum. It is called "Living the Good
News" and we are
very excited about the fact that it will follow
the same readings done in the church, allowing all ages in our
church community
to study the same Biblical passages each week!
Second, we will be starting each Sunday School lesson in the
chapel at 9:50am (new start time!) We will have
the children do the same readings as are being read in church.
After the
readings, we will break into smaller groups for
an age appropriate lesson based on the readings that were done
in the
chapel. This year, we are trying something
new...classes will be broken into larger age groups with the
hopes that our
classes and discussions will be more vibrant and
dynamic. After the lessons, the children will gather again as a
large
group and work on an ongoing service project.
This will offer them an opportunity for fellowship and fun. We
will then
head over to the church so that the children
have an opportunity to receive communion.
We are looking forward to implementing these
changes and hope that you will continue to support our program
by bringing
your children regularly to Sunday School! Please
give your children the gift of God in their lives. Our dedicated
group of teachers are here to support
you...together we can help our children grow and flourish within
the church family!
Sunday School starts Sunday, September 11th at 9:50 in the
chapel. Registration will be completed the same day.
