Old Testament lesson, the Epistle, and the Intercessions during
the Eucharist. Chalice Bearers are Lay Readers who have
undergone further study and are licensed to administer the

St.
Luke's Women's Fellowship
All women of St. Luke's are automatically members of the Women's Fellowship
(a.k.a. ECW). The purpose of this group is to provide a
flexible framework, so that every woman has an opportunity to
actively express Christianity through service and fellowship.

Outreach
Programs
Bethanna Home
Bethanna’s Foster Care program exists to assist families
with achieving permanent living situations for all children,
including those with medical and/or emotional needs. Children
coming into foster care are typically adjudicated through the
court system as dependent and referred to Bethanna by county
Children and Youth agencies.
Each year the people of St. Luke's provide Christmas gifts
for the boys of Bethanna Home.
Food Pantry
The parish family collects canned goods and non
perishable items to be distributed to needy families in the
Newtown area. The pantry is also open to those who need
assistance with food and come to the church seeking assistance
with providing some food to carry them over.
Aiding our Neighbors
St. Luke's works with the Aiding our Neighbors ministry to
assess and meet the needs of individuals and families seeking
assistance. In addition to case by case need throughout the year
we provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts
during the Christmas holidays.
Love Loaves
Love Loaves is an international outreach of Franklin Graham ministries
that St. Luke's supports.
Money collected in November goes to help feed starving
children throughout the world.
Medical Mission- Dominican
Republic
The Medical Mission Team works under the auspices of the
Episcopal Church of the Dominican Republic and with Fr. Ramon
Ubiera Torres, priest of the Parish of St. Mary the Virgin,
